About The Bakery
Stay Awhile Bakery is the passion project of Sari Hartman: mom of 3, community volunteer, and all around foodie.

I grew up in a house where the door was always open to everyone and when people came over, they stayed...for awhile. Our kitchen had an endless supply of fresh fruit and sun tea, Entenmann's and coffee, and every snack you could imagine. The parade of food never ended and if you causally mentioned a specific item that we didn't have, there was a good chance it would be there the next time you came over.

Our house was home to far more than my immediate family; and, I was well into my adulthood before I realized that this was not how everyone grew up. ​
​
My ever-present desire to host and nourish people stems from this bustling childhood home and the memories made in that kitchen and around the kitchen table. I get great joy in knowing people enjoy my creations. And, I am elated when you share them with people you love in a place that is home, and in that space...you Stay Awhile.
About Ordering
I am a licensed Cottage Food Operator in San Diego County baking in my home kitchen.

Here's what you what you can expect from me: soft challah, salty focaccia, chewy cookies, fluffy marshmallows, decadent babka, rich bundt cakes, and gooey sticky buns, among other things.
To keep things interesting, I will create a new menu each week based on a new flavor or theme. The Flavor of the Week and corresponding menu will be revealed on Saturdays and will available for delivery and pick up the following Tuesday-Friday only. After you order, I will be in contact with you regarding pick up or delivery timing.

I will have a handful of items that will always be available: challah, chocolate or cinnamon babka, salted chocolate chip cookies, marshmallows, cinnamon rolls, focaccia, chocolate bundt cake, and brownies.
